Meet your Eastern Conference All Star Power Forward

How about those Raptors. Playing better as of late and now a STARTER in the All Star Game. Still not to late to grab them at a juicy +4000 to win the NBA Title at www.BetBug.com either.

Oh and btw, I notice a certain former Raptor didn't quite make the old starting line up.

Don't let that door hit you on the way out Vince!

One Win to go Peyton

Well we know he can now at least get to the Super Bowl. Whether or not he can win the big one is entirely still up for debate.

With a week to go, at BetBug, the Colts are 6.5 point favourites to win it all. I am leaning towards Chicago at this point, but still need to digest all the week's hype and info before finally making a final pick for the game.

Certainly I don't imagine Mr. Manning will be partaking in too much of the Miami night life. For all Colts fans sake's he had better not be.

The X-Games

Who even knew ESPN had a site EXPN, devoted to the X-games. There is no betting on this stuff, but hell it just looks beyond cool.

Mind you it also looks beyond difficult.

But hell, at least these kids will grow up to embrace the outdoors and fitness, instead of the modern sedentary life style that leads to being unable to embrace just about anything!

Even fatties can win!

I'm not sure which way to take Serena's big Aussie Open victory.

Either it says she is literally one of the greatest, if not the best, female tennis player of all time, able to win even in less than peak condition due to her astounding athletism...

OR

The Womens tour is just so god awful that even FAT CHICKS off for months with hardly any match play in TWO YEARS can win majors.

Yikes.

No Football this weekend!!!! What's a bettor to do???

Why take up the challenge of college basketball of course.

On Saturday alone, BetBug will have at a minimum 60 college hoops games up for wagering. So if you can divine even just a couple of winners and outcomes in those many games, you will not even miss the lack of the gridiron, for the first time since September.

And you had better get used to that deficit of footy. After next week, it's a long cold spring and summer till training camps begin.

NHL ALL STAR GAME

Dallas is the site of the All Star Game tonight and while it promises to feature it's regular amount of excessive scoring and no hitting, (take the OVER at www.BetBug.com) it also is a show case for the new tighter fitting uniforms that the NHL plans on debuting next year.

The idea of putting hockey players in tighter uniforms is stupid of course. The only position on the ice in need of tighter uni's is of course the goalie. But Bettman is determined to "streamline" the league and this is another in a series of attempts on his part to do it.

Stupid is a stupid does I guess.

A brief hockey hiatus

Well this week is the NHL All Star Break so perhaps it's a good time to take a look back and then a look ahead at the season so far and to come.

Clearly the individual story of the year in the NHL to this point is the emergence of Crosby as the best player in the game. He is so far ahead of anyone else at just the age of 19, well one wonders just how good he will become eventually.

On a team basis, Buffalo and Anaheim have been the standard bearers for their conferences for most of the first half. But both has shown some recent slippage allowing teams like Ottawa, Nashville, Vancouver, and New Jersey to perhaps believe they can make a run in the season's second half.

At BetBug you can still get both Ottawa and Vancouver at decent prices to win the Cup and I can certainly think of worse wagers than those.

NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Well this is the day. At around 9pm tonight we will know the two combatents in the Super Bowl.

Chicago hosts New Orleans and then Indianapolis, on the strength of their regular season victory over New England, hosts the Patriots.

www.BetBug.com has both games covered with spread, totals, and moneylines. And if you think even that perhaps you can divine the future just two short weeks away, well futures are up for your betting pleasure as well.

Poor Old Marat

I love Safin, but he just cannot keep his temper under control. He could have beaten Roddick yesterday if he had just stayed focused. Instead he basically yelled himself out of the tournament.

Too bad. When this guy is one, there's only one other guy that can beat him. Of course that guy can beat anyone when he's on...

250 million

Yes he's good looking. Yes he WAS a great player. Yes he's married to a famous lady.

But there is no way in heck that the LA Galaxy are going to be recouping their 250 million.

Cannot, will not happen.

Amphetamines???

This is what the witch hunt has come to.

They can't get Bonds legitimately on steroids, so they're looking to throw any kind of mud they can.

Amphetamines. Excuse me. I believe there is not a single MLB'er who has not taken some of those.

Talk about the smell of desperation on Congress' and MLB's part. If that's all you have boys, just get over it.

And then there were 4

So, once again, a great weekend of Divisional playoffs in the NFL has came and went. The action was wild and the betting was fierce. www.BetBug.com had a great weekend with all the games and we're looking forward to the Conference Championships this weekend and then, after a weeks off, well you know what game that is.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

What a weekend!

The NFL playoffs!

NCAA Hoops everywhere!

Hockey Day in Canada for the NHL!

NBA Action all over!

This is why everyone should have at least two televisions! And be very agile with their remotes!

www.BetBug.com is the place for all the games and all the lines. Bet long, bet hard, but bet!

The Divisional Playoffs Weekend

The NFL gets down to business this weekend. The four best teams from the Fall take on the four winners from last week's Wild Card games.

Usually, this weekend's slate of games are about as interesting as watching paint dry. With a week off, rested, and fully healthy, the favourites this weekend tend to mop up the floor with their opponents.

But, this season, I happen to think we may see something just a wee bit different.

And why is that? Well look no more than the four home teams and their rather sizable and obvious weakenesses.

Chicago - the QB position - Grossman could lose the game all by himself for them
New Orleans - uhh...they're the Saints!!!??? the Saints for heavens sake
Baltimore - great D, shame about that O
San Diego - hello...it's Mary Schottenheimer. He's never won a big game in his life

All in all, this could be one very interesting weekend. And of course, BetBug is your place to bet any/all the underdogs you like the next two days.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire

Didn't get a chance to comment on this last week, but Nick Saban's disgusting double cross of the Dolphins to take the Bama job is just about the worst case of saying one thing and doing another that I can ever remember.

And the best (or worst part) is he even had the Dolphins owner somehow WISHING HIM WELL!

Boy I hope the next person I double cross takes it that well.

Ridiculous.

66's Dog and Pony Show

It's kind of sad really. While his hockey team stands poised to become a re-incarnation of the young Oilers of the early 80's in terms of skill and talent, Mario Lemiuex is reduced to going hat in hand, from city to city, literally begging someone, anyone, to take this financial albatross off his hands

And while I do think he'll be successful eventually, probably in Pitsburgh actually, this entire process cannot have really done anything but embitter one of the game's all time greats.

More importantly it certainly can't be helping the Pens, 30:1 at BetBug, to contend this year for the Cup. Too many distractions.

The National Championship

Finally, after a month of meaningless bowl games, we have arrived at the day that decides whether Florida or OSU will be crowned the National Champion.

Or have we?

Just for the sake of argument, let's imagine OSU loses. Then of course for the BCS poll, the Gators are champs.

But the AP is under no such obligation to vote this game's winner the best team.

And given what happened just one short week ago in the Fiesta Bowl, I'll bet there will be more than one writer listing non other than Boise State, THE ONLY DIVISION ONE COLLEGE FOOTBALL UNDEFEATED TEAM, as their National Champion.

Wild Card Weekend

Well we're finally here. The commencement of the NFL's Second Season is upon us.

This weekend is the start of the NFL Playoffs with the Wild Card Games.

4 games over 2 days. And BetBug has all your wagering needs at the ready, with spreads, totals, moneylines, and futures all at the ready.

Who will win the Super Bowl this season?

Who knows!!!

But you could certainly do worse than looking toward the past, specifically past champions, as a prediction for the future.

The AFC has almost all the best teams, but they also have a certain Star QB who has already won 3 Super Bowls and a Coach who has engineered more than his fair share of big game victories.

The Witch Hunt continues..

The only thing missing from Congress' investigation of MLB's steroid question are some stakes and some kindling.

This entire sham of a inquiry is simply about scoring political points.

If Congress really is so "worried about our kids" and their penchant for following the example of pro athletes, maybe just maybe, instead of starting with baseball, they might just want to take a look at that bastion of American culture, the N.F.L.

What a sham.

Mike Tyson - The Gong Show Continues

Really, does THIS surprise anyone?

Tyson's sad demise is almost of Shakespearean heights. His eventual fall seems almost pre-ordained.

Not that he doesn't bear a LARGE degree (in fact most) of the blame for the sad state of his life, but you just wonder what might have been if he had been surrounded by people who actually cared about him as opposed to people who just cared about USING him.

Great Work Don King et all...I hope you sleep well at night.

The sad fact is, they probably do.

The Luck of the Irish

The Sugar Bowl goes this evening, with BetBug offering LSU -9.5 -105, and with apparently the whole world assuming an easy SEC victory at home over the Irish.

Not so fast people.

Have we forgotten who coaches Notre Dame? Charlie Weiss is not exactly know for NOT having his teams ready, especially coming off an embarrasing season ending defeat.

You can have your Bayou revival and your New Orleans rah rah. I'll take the team that is better coached and has the better QB.
